Publisher's Page > Lead by Example —Yours I n the cover story of this issue of Diversity Woman (page 44), self-made billionaire Lynn Tilton explains how along her road to the pinnacle of success she did not follow a predetermined path. Despite frequently being the lone female in the male-dominated felds of manufacturing and equity investment, the outspoken Tilton did things her own way. Embrace your personality and embrace the path it takes you on. di ve rs i tywoma n.com Tilton may be a one-of-a-kind woman and entrepreneur, but her story serves as a model for us all. We may wear different outfts or feel comfortable with diferent management styles, but we travel the same path—as women in the workplace establishing our identity, striving and succeeding, and making a diference for ourselves and for others. In my new book, Lead by Example: Woman Empowering Women at Every Level of Business (please visit diversitywoman.com for more information), I share my insights on my leadership style and interview other women about their leadership approach. Te goal is to demonstrate that there is no one right way to achieve career success or satisfaction. Our paths are as diferent as we are—and this diversity is a thing of beauty. Embrace your personality and embrace the path it takes you on. Lead in a way you are comfortable with. At the same time, embrace your sisters' paths and personalities as well. You can grow from and empower one another and build a powerful community—in your ofce, in your community, even in your family. Not only do we all have diferent personalities and paths, we also have diferent work styles. Just ask Yahoo!'s Marissa Mayer. As DW attempts to adjudicate the two sides of the sometimes rancorous telecommuting debate (page 35), we gently remind everyone that just as there is no right path to success and happiness, there is no right path to workplace productivity. Embracing your power also means embracing the paths of others. Lastly, I am pleased to announce an editorial partnership between Diversity Woman and Catalyst, the leading research organization on women in the workplace. In each issue of DW, we will feature the column "Conversations with Catalyst," full of information on how to stay ahead of the game. You can fnd this new addition on page 68. We hope you enjoy this issue!  Sheila Robinson Publisher, Diversity Woman Fa ll 2 0 1 3 D IVE R S IT Y WO MAN 11
